I am guilty of not putting effort to get dressed better in winter. I mean, it’s always cold outside and all I want to do is cuddle in my pajama indoors. The winter lasts longer in Canada and there have been times it lasted more than 6 months. And I am pretty much used to it! For me, casual clothes refer to everyday wear that is comfortable and relaxing yet stands out. The dressing up requires minimum effort but you need to know what will bring out the look! Here are my thoughts on how to dress casually for winter this year:
Sweaters are a MUST
Whether it’s a chunky knit sweater or a fitted sweater, they bring up the look in winter. Not to mention, they are super comfy and cozy. From turtlenecks to chunky to fitted sweaters, they all sell in winter for a reason.
Don’t Forget the Accessories
In my opinion, a look is never complete without accessories. A belt, earrings, bracelets, watch and bag are my go-to accessories of all time. You must be thinking why even bother in winter when it will all get hidden. These accessories will stand out regardless of the seasons. I also happen to have an eye for them and can see them from far away.
Opt-in for Eye-Catching Boots
The boots sound so basic! In my university days, I gave the least importance to my boots mainly because I never looked at them as a trend. Although I love heels in boots, let’s be honest I can’t wear them for long. Think of running to catch a bus and you end up breaking your heels. Yup! That happened to me more than once! So now, I always look for boots that have studs or are colorful and have low heels. Given the photo, the heels make a statement to the outfit.
Conclusion
Come to think of it, it’s not hard to make yourself more dashing in public. As long as you have your go-to accessories and have your favorite winter pieces in mind. Dressing up requires minimum effort!
