1. Moisturizer

If you have been using thick rich moisturizers all winter long then it’s time to step away and make space for lightweight moisturizers. Remember all skins are different but if you have oily acne-prone skin, then applying a lightweight moisturizer in summer would reduce your chances of getting clogged pores. As the temperatures increase in summer, your skin may produce more oils and applying a thick moisturizer can increase the chances of more breakouts. Here are my favorite lightweight moisturizers that will do wonders for your skin this summer.

I am a big of Olay products and Olay’s Luminous Whip Active Moisturizer SPF 25 is my current go to. The lightweight formula keeps my skin hydrated and also provides me with additional SPF to protect my face from the sun.

If you are looking for a budget friendly lightweight moisturizer then I urge you to check out Vanicream Facial Moisturizer With Hyaluronic Acid. The lightweight moisturizer will keep your skin glowing without causing any irritation.

Lastly, OLE HENRIKSEN Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer is my ultimate favorite. The moisturizer is rich in multi-fruit acids and antioxidants to prevent dryness and even reduce uneven skin tones.

2. Retinol

There are tons of active ingredients out there and while one each of them serve a purpose, I would strongly recommend you to start with Retinol first. Retinol aka Vitamin A encourages skin cells turnover, stimulates collagen production, reduces hyper-pigmentation and decreases signs of aging. In other words, it tackles a bit of everything.

I am a big fan of Olay’s Regenerist Retinol 24, I completed the full bottle in 3 months and saw tremendous results. Paula’s Choice is also my favorite brand for retinol, the bottle also has bakuchiol extract & peptides that will reverse signs of aging for a youthful looking skin. Lastly, if you are looking for budget friendly Retinol, then check out The InKey List’s Retinol serum for a smoother and radiant looking skin.

3. Sunscreen

I always remind my readers that you can use all the products in the world but if you are not using sunscreen, you are not doing anything for your skin. Constant exposure to sun causes premature aging which then leads to sunspots, discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles. You HAVE to wear SPF daily to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

My all time favorite is EltaMD UV Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 46. It’s super lightweight and also contains niacinamide to reduce inflammation.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 and Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 are my next best sunscreens. If I am not able to find Elta online, I would opt-in for any of the two below.
