We don’t have to do ‘New Year New Me’ to do something new this year. In fact, the concept of having to change ourselves puts a lot of pressure on us and in my option, is very unrealistic. I would however recommend that we can look forward to new trends and push ourselves to dress better this year. 2020 was not at all what we expected so let’s take 2021 and change it into something better than last year. I personally have been looking forward to a lot of trends this year and some are already my favorite. These pieces will repeatedly be worn this year and if you don’t have any of the pieces, then be ready to add them in your cart. So without further ado, let’s have a look at the pieces that are here to stay for the next 12 months.
1. Structured Sleeves
If you know me by now, you all know how much I love puffed, bell, balloon etc. sleeves. I am a petite person and I love adding volume to my shoulders to make myself stand out. I absolutely love that puff and any type exaggerated sleeves are trending this year and I couldn’t be more excited. You will find these sleeves in all types fabrics and lengths. Check out my favorites below:
2. Corset Tops
Corset tops have been a popular trend on social media and we girls love them. They are absolutely feminine and the lace work with sheer fabrications just make us want to have more and more.
3. Shackets
Shackets have been huge in 2020 and seems that they will be staying in 2021 as well. I actually ordered plenty of the bestsellers from Amazon Fashion and I am surprised to see so many of us wearing them. I love how practical they are and won’t be surprised if they continue in spring as well.
4. Slouchy Jeans
Gone are the days with skinny jeans. I basically did my high school and university years in skinny jeans but not anymore. We have officially stepped into the age of slouchy/mom/balloon jeans. It literally reminds of the 90s when there was no such thing as skinny jeans.
5. Matching Sets
Thanks to loungewear fashion, matching sets are more in demand than ever. Whether it’s a knit sweater skirt set or a silk matching suit, we all want them. You can even wear two separate pieces as long as they match at the end.
