How to Make a Gallery Wall for Beginners

Over my past 2-3 years of doing my own interior, I have learned that wall decor is crucial in uplifting an interior look. It can make all the difference and can take a look from 0 to 10. I have invested so much in making my living room look cozy. From throws to cushions to flowers but nothing can fill the gap of a gallery wall.

In today’s post, I am going to show you how to start a gallery wall including choosing frame sizes, aesthetics, and finalizing the wall.

It can be overwhelming to decide the layout of the frames. Let’s say you are going for a specific layout l, the size of the frames will help you decide the layout of the frames. I am focusing on a specific theme that I was personally connecting to and wanted to place it above my sofa in the living room.

Luckily, when I came across the Poster Store, my job was cut in half. They have a gallery wall inspiration section that has tons of samples of the themes and layouts you can go with. Some examples include:

If you like to stick to same size frames and keep the layout straight forward then this inspo is for you

You can also start with one big frame and build smaller frames around it.

Or you can do something like this which is what I ended up doing.

The wall inspiration is endless on Poster Store and this not only helped me choose the layout but also find the theme I wanted to go with. I felt that the colors beige, white, and pink were a good combo and I was leaning towards Mediterranean and safari posters. Towards the end, I ended up choosing a mix of both.

I started with two 19.7” X 27.6” frames and two 15.7’ X 19.7’ frames and put them cross each other. Then I took another two 15.7’ X 19.7’ frames and put them on the opposite ends. Here is what it looked like after I hanged all the frames.

As I have gold work around my living room, it only made sense that I go with gold frames.

Since I had such an amazing experience with them, I have partnered up with them to give 35% off on all posters (not selection posters or frames). Make sure to head to POSTER STORE and use CODE FAIZA35 to get your posters. The code will be valid for one month.

Hi, I love the art work you have in the second decorating picture with the light color couch and the blues and wheat color pictures. I’m trying to find out how much it would cost to duplicate these art pieces. Any idea?
    Thanks.

I love the gallery you have with the light blues and beiges. Do you know where I could find these art pictures. I’m particularly looking for the larger one in the center with the blue sky and the little house or windmill (not sure what it is) but like the colors. I love all of them. Just wondering where I could find them. I found one similar but it was ion black and white. I would like the blue cast. Thanks.
