1. Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

The way you perceive yourself is how you respond to people which in turn affects the outcomes. The book focuses on your psychology and how it impacts every part of our life. In this book, author Carol Dweck talks about fixed and growth mindset, and how it affects your success, failure, attitude and generally everything. It’s a definite recommend if you are looking to change your mindset for better.

2. How to Win Friends & Influence People

Author Dale Carnegie talks about various fundamental methods of handling people. To summarize, principles include not criticizing or complaining, giving honest feedback and waking up an eager in the other person. The book also covers topics on how to make people like you, how to win them to your way of thinking, and be a leader in conversations. If you are introvert, or in marketing/sales, then this book is highly recommended as this is a step by step guide on how to be influential.

3. The Magic of Thinking Big

A highly recommended book on self-belief and confidence. The book teaches you how to be confident and positive to yourself and others. It sounds basic but hard to implement. If we live with negative thoughts, they will continue to affect our life in negative ways. Vice versa, if you are a positive thinker, you live with positive thoughts. People who are successful know this to live a more fulfilling life.

4. What to Say When You Talk to Your Self

This was a very interesting book to read. As you are reading this, you may be having numerous thoughts in your head and it’s those thoughts and what you say to yourself defines how negative/positive you are which then affects your confidence. I love this book because it spoke about how we are born with possibilities but with time, external factors like school, friends, families lead us to take fewer risks. The book takes us step by step to do positive self-talk to break years of build-up cycle.

5. How to Have Confidence and Power in Dealing with People

The key to influencing people is to understand how they really are vs how you want them to interact. Author Les Giblin talks about how to win people with confidence without putting them down but instead by cooperation, goodwill and security.
