Just as I update my wardrobe every fall, I also update my skincare routine. I have a combination skin and my skin starts getting flaky when it gets colder. That’s why I make sure I am using the appropriate products to tackle my dry skin. Having a hydrated and moisturized skin is crucial and here are my top tips to having the best skin this fall:

1. Double Cleansing is Key
I over emphasize on double cleansing because it has made all the difference in my skincare routine. When I use a cleansing balm/oil, it ensures that my skin won’t dry out and clog pores. I barely get dry and irritated skin, balms/oils keep my skin moisturized and hydrated and prep me for the night skincare routine. Here’s a quick tutorial explaining cleansing balms.
Here are some of my favorite cleansing balms:
2. Hydrate your Skin
As much as I like to cleanse my skin, using a regular cleanser can often dry out my skin and that is why it is important to use a gentle and hydrating cleanser. It is also important to use the right toner to hydrate the skin after. I personally love Hyaluronic Acid by The INKEY List. It’s affordable and works on all skin types. It will really leave your skin looking smoother and plumper. Besides this, here are some of my other recommendations:
3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize…
As important as it is to keep skin hydrated, it is also important to moisturize the skin to avoid getting flaky skin in the fall. Cold air, hot showers, and changing humidity is the main cause of dry and flaky skin. I would also avoid over-exfoliating skin as well as that can lead to irritation in cold weather. Start using a thick moisturizer and reapply during the day if needed. Here are some of the moisturizers to keep in mind this fall:

It amazing for your skin all year round.
I have never heard of double-cleansing! I’m definitely going to try it and see if it works for my troublesome skin 😀
