Sharing my pregnancy experience that included IV and using Zofran in my 9 months of pregnancy and I am finally at a stage in life where I feel like I am comfortable enough to share it all with you guys. I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum which is an extreme form of pregnancy that lasted me all nine months. I wanted to share my thoughts and how I survived those 9 months. Here it is!
Thank you for sharing your experience. It will help a lot of women to know that you and your baby made it out of this alive and healthy. I went through HG pregnancy with my daughter 7+ years ago and was on a Zofran pump, before FDA warning, 24/7 (slept and showered with it and put my own IV in once a day) and the depression was real. I have heard some describe the experience afterwards as having PTSD and that is 100% accurate. I only have my daughter and could not bring myself to go through that again. I am so lucky to have her and our health that we were able to make it out of that situation alive. So important to have a doctor that understands and knows what to do so thank you for sharing your experience and letting women know that they are not alone and can find help for their very difficult journey through a HG pregnancy.
Hi Tammy, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I completely agree. The depression was real and just looking back at it traumatizes me.
