Having travel essentials for infants is crucial. No matter where you travel, you want to have travel necessities for convenience, hygiene, and safety purposes. I travel between Detroit and Toronto a lot and I am in Toronto almost every week or every two weeks depending on when work calls me. Moreso, I travel on planes about 3-4 times a year as well. That all being given, I have bought crucial baby must-haves that have made my life so much easier. If you are looking for tips on traveling with infants, make sure to read my post on – 8 Promising Tips for Travelling with a 1-Year-Old. For this post, I am bringing you some amazing must-have Amazon products for babies during travel. Keep reading below to find out what I use:
1. Travel Stroller
We learned from our recent Europe trip big time to have a travel stroller for Mikael. Our everyday stroller, although very efficient, was the most difficult stroller to carry throughout our Europe trip. Mikael and the stroller combined weighed up to 50lbs. Paris and some London subways didn’t have elevators and my husband had to carry that every time we stepped in and out of the subways. To top it off, elevators (lifts) aren’t big enough in France to fit big size strollers like ours. When I got back, I researched and read all reviews of travel strollers and found these to be the best strollers. Check out some of my favorites:
- Pockit Lightweight Stroller: I seriously love the way it folds. No wonder it’s been named the World’s Smallest Folding Stroller. Of all the strollers, this also happens to be the least weight as well. Although small, it is built on high quality and can carry up to 55lbs.
Jovial Folding Baby Stroller: It is also a lightweight stroller and folds small enough to be left in trunks and airplanes. The stroller also has a sun visor canopy to protect your infant from the sun which is perfect when you are roaming cities and exploring places.
Graco Breaze Click Connect Stroller, Pierce: The stroller can hold up to 50lb! If you are using an Infant Graco Car Seat then you can easily slide that on to the stroller with an instant click. The stroller is also an easy fold which is perfect to carry in small elevators.
Sometimes your infant can get tired of sitting in the stroller. That was the case for Mikael and I don’t blame him, we were walking all day and he wanted to be a little free than being tied up. So we made sure to pack his carrier. It takes up less space and they enjoy being next to you as well. What I love more about this carrier is its ability to convert into a high chair. I know a lot of parents who carry boosters when they travel but boosters can take up a lot of space especially if you are traveling to many cities. This carrier is perfect for a city like Paris!
One of the best investments I have made for Mikael. He enjoys milk more nowadays and prefers milk over solids during travel. Kind of strange! So I came across this few months back and I personally love it! It’s convenient for us to carry thanks to its size and I can sanitize nipples and pacifiers as I travel with him. It takes 3 minutes to sterilize and ready to use right away.
4. Diaper Bag Backpack
I actually don’t have a tote diaper bag! I knew I would be traveling a lot so I opted for a Skip Hop Diaper Bag Backpack. I have had this since his birth and I am all ok with it. I personally never liked the idea when you have your own purse to carry and then you carry a tote diaper bag on top of it. On our recent Europe trip, I was wearing this on my back and kept my purse in the bottom stroller space.
I have had this for him since day one. I have tried other pacifier grips but these are the best ones. They have a strong grip and he has a hard time pulling it off. Nowadays he is at a stage where he tries to pull it away but he is unsuccessful thanks to these grips. Definitely, a must-have!
We have a lot of teething toys for him but he only likes 2-3 of them. So make sure to carry their favorite teething toys during travel. Mikael tends to bite everything (even me) to soothe his teeth. He personally likes these silicone teethers!
7. Sippy Cups
If your toddler has transitioned to a sippy cup then make sure to keep them with you all the time. Traveling and in-flight time can be very dehydrating for us and for our babies. Mikael doesn’t like straw sippy cups (at least not yet) so I went for these Toddler Feeding No Spill Sippy Cups. They are his favorite!
8. Diaper Bag Dispenser
I spoke about using pet poop bags in my 8 Promising Tips for Travelling with a 1-Year-Old post until I discovered these recently. The bags come with a compact dispenser that can be clipped to the diaper bag. If you run out, get these refills!
