Eyelash lift and extensions has been the rage for the past 3-4 years. I have spoken to friends and colleagues about eyelash extensions and it has worked amazing for them. I personally never felt a need to do them as I have had naturally longer looking lashes. Recently, I went for a consultation to Infinity Beauty Healthcare Spa and Clinic and was advised to do an eyelash lift rather than eyelash extensions. Here’s the difference between the two:
Eyelash Extensions: Eyelash extensions are basically for shorter lashes and makes your eyelashes look lengthier, fuller and curlier. The procedure is about a hour and includes using a semi-permanent glue to individually stick eyelashes one by one. The glue is specifically for the procedure, free of skin irritation and doesn’t harm the natural eyelashes. Depending on the type of eyelash extensions you get, the lashes are also tinted to bring more definition to the lashes.
Eyelash Lift: Eyelash lift on the other hand is like a perm to uplift and curl the lashes to make them stand out and look longer. It is most of the times done with an eyelash tint to create more definition. The procedure is done using a gel patch on the lashes and is followed by silicone pads to hold the gel in place. The next step is to tint (colour) the lashes. The procedure finishes with combing the lashes and removing silicone pads.
My Experience with Eyelash Lift
Upon my consultation at Infinity Beauty Healthcare, I didn’t need eyelash extensions or the tint. I went for Keratin Eyelash Lift. Gilina from the spa was super helpful and informative, she walked me step-by-step on how the procedure works and accommodated me based on what I need NOT what I should get. My procedure took about 45mins which included gel patch, silicone pads and lastly Keratin to finish off the look. She also recommended using eyelash comb to comb my lash whenever needed. It’s been two weeks, I haven’t used eyelash curler and apply mascara everyday. They are still curly and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
Infinity Beauty Healthcare are located at 8888 Keele Street, Unit 5 Concord, Toronto, ON and best of all provide free consultations for clients. My recommendation would be to try to the consultation as they guide you step by step.
