MY NYFW trip was beyond magical. Not only I got to attend the fashion shows, I luckily got ‘Behind the Scenes’ access and had to chance to spot upcoming nail trends. I met talented nail artists and got an idea of what nail trends to expect in the coming seasons. I wanted to thank Essie for having me in the backstage. So guys, let’s have a look at the major nail trends from NYFW.
1. Classic French Manicures
Who doesn’t love the classic French manicure? It’s clean, minimal and romantic in its own way. I love how Betina Goldstein created the look for KHAITE‘s show by adding a modern twist to it.
2. Graphics for the Win
Looking to add fun to your nails? Opt-in for graphics such as metallic Western boots, saturated colors, geometric shapes, and animal prints also seen in Jeremy Scott’s SS20 collection. I had to chance to meet Miss Pop Nails, who was down to earth human being and also a talented Nails Artist. I love how she brought back the wild side of the 80s. The nails were my favorite part of the show!
3. Statement Shades for Every Girl
Statement colors vary for each individual and Rita Remark at Kade Spade show made sure to allow every girl to feel her color on the runaway. She further coordinated fingertips and toes to finalize the looks. I love how she used pastels, neons and dark colors without hesitation.
4. Wild Rich Berries
Naomi Yasuda of Essie took her inspiration from the 70s to create an almond-shaped manicure using deep red color as a base and then coating it using a burgundy color. The final look was bold, sophisticated and spoke glam for TommyXZendaya show. The nails were truly my favorite parts of the show.
5. Frosted Nails
Loved how Rita Remark of Essie created these beautiful frosted and oval-shaped nails. She took the inspiration from the 60s but made the look more contemporary using three shades from Essie: minimalistic, vanity fairest, and going steady. The result was soft pink sheer nails!
