It finally snowed in NY and there were lots and lots of it. And that’s when you know winter is in full swing and is here to stay for the next couple of months. I know I have been talking about the cold winter staples but haven’t touched too much on the winter trends. So for the post today, I am going to be covering the trendiest pieces to shop for. They go from boots to all jackets/coats, tops, bottoms, and of course accessories. And without further ado, let’s go ahead and have a look at them below:
We have been talking about down and puffer jackets this season but teddy coats and leather jackets are also a big yes yes! When it comes to outerwear, play with textures, and experiment with layers. For example, I am comfortable layering leather underneath puffer but can’t say the same about my husband. That’s too much for him. Also, don’t forget prints and colors, I like collecting colors more than prints as I love matching them to my bottoms. But prints are still huge like the leopard puffer jacket (see below).
2. Ankle Boots
Other than combat boots which are trending as always, I have also been eyeing pointy leather ankle boots. There are some with embellishments and are definitely something you should invest in for now and the future.
When it comes to sweaters, I try to look for investment pieces that are trending and can last a couple of seasons. For example, I recently invested in a black sleeveless mock neck sweater (see below) and I am obsessed. There are so many ways I can style it and will definitely uplift the look. Or let’s look at the beige oversized sweater dress, it’s a color that is perfect for the cold season and will last longer as well.
When it comes to pants and skirts, I have been eyeing a lot of leather skirts and pants. And why not! The material will keep you warm and make your look edgier as well. Other than leather, wide-leg pants are also huge and are perfect for any office or day out event. They are a definite go-to this season.
Last but not least, let’s look at accessories that are known to be worn in winter yet I don’t see a lot of us wearing it. The black round hat is perfect for any good winter day and goes with tons of looks. Likewise, the white belt is also perfect to wear in winter as individuals tend to opt-in for darker tones in winter. And so wearing a white belt will make the look stand out.
