3 Self-Care Habits I Am Committing To in 2021

I know I have spoken about self-care a lot in the past only because I believe it is crucial for any individual. I wish I could travel back in time to make sure I took care of myself more. Self-care is not only important for our skin but for our mind and body too. That is why I am going to be breaking it down to explain how we can push our old routines away and try to focus on self-care habits more. So without further ado, let’s look at the habits we can change in 2021 to better care for ourselves.

1. Skincare

Let’s begin with skincare because it has boosted my confidence so much over the past year that I truly believe skincare is essential for anyone looking to spend more time with themselves and feel better about their skin. As it’s winter, I am relying on products to keep me extra hydrated and get me through the colder days. Below are my highly recommended (tried and tested) cleansers and moisturizers for winter. Both cleansers (& balms) and moisturizers are equally important for hydrated skin in winter.

2. Mind

Although I have drastically improved on my skincare habits over the last 2-3 years, I still struggle with taking mental breaks. This is something I really want to focus on in 2021. Whether it’s sitting down to read a book or writing a journal to listen to a podcast, I very well know I can’t commit to this every day so I am aiming at giving myself 30 mins twice a week to take mental breaks. Other things you can focus on to take mental breaks include meditation, listening to music, or even dancing. The whole idea is to unplug yourself away from everything and focus on something that gives your mind a break.

3. Body

I was doing very well with exercising until the pandemic hit last year. It’s been a struggle to get back to the gym so I am aiming at doing (again) half-hour twice a week. I also feel my muscles have been sore lately thus struggling with fatigue. It funny as I am writing this blog, I plan on doing a workout tonight. It’s the best way to release tension in our muscles and believe me, it makes all the difference in the world especially in winter. If you plan on doing at home workout, here are some essentials you might be needing to get the workout at home. Some other things you can do for your body is massage, walking, dancing, and exercise.

So everyone, has anyone set new year resolutions for 2021? And how much are you planning to take better care of yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
