We are officially in January winter which means all of us should have our winter pieces out including the basics. There are tons of pieces you can wear throughout winter but it all comes down to basics which we will wear repetitively in winter every year. For me, I like to keep 4-5 pieces of each basic in case one gets ripped or stained. So without further ado, let’s have a look at the winter basics below.
1. White Button-Down Shirt
I know this may come as a shock to a few because why invest in a button-down shirt when in need of sweaters? The answer is this! I always layer and I like it easier to layer with a white button-down shirt than other tops. Whether it a sweater vest, cardigan, blazer, leather jacket, the white button-down shirt will go with everything. Instead of finding pieces to layer from the closet, the shirt saves plenty of time in the morning.
2. Tights + stockings
Stockings and tights do not only keep you warm but also add texture to your outfit. I love how they make the look expensive and quality-worthy as well. If you are looking for quality worthy and textured/colored stockings, then you have to check out Calzedonia as they are my go-to for socks, leggings and tights. I am listing some of my favorites below as well!
3. Wool Blazers
If you know me well then you very much know how much I love blazers. They make me look put together and versatile. If you saw my recent post on ‘How to Look Like a Boss Lady in 2021‘, then you also know blazers mean #GirlBoss and that you are a boss lady leading to get everything done. In winter, wearing the wool blazer rather than the cotton/polyester blazer is always the best option to keep yourself cozy. Here are some of my favorite options below.
4. Knee High Boots
Nothing is handier than knee-high boots in winter. Whether you are living with snow or without snow, knee-high boots will not only accentuate the look but will keep you warm and protected as well. I love that they can be worn with jeans, dresses, and skirts. In the worst-case scenario, they can also shield your knees from a fall as well.
5. Turtlenecks
Last but not least are turtlenecks. As I mentioned, winter is all about layering and a turtleneck is a great option for the colder days as it will keep your neck warm at all times. I have also included sleeveless turtlenecks as they are perfect for those who find turtlenecks too warm. Overall I love wearing turtlenecks under dresses, sweaters, or any coat/jacket.
