I love nothing more than taking my wardrobe basics and turning them into a sophisticated and high-toned look. If you know me at all, you know I like to keep my outfits comfortable yet classy thanks to all the basics I have invested in over the years. My basics consists of high-end and low-end pieces and I am always looking for quality pieces that will last me for years to come. In today’s blog, I am going to be rounding up pieces that I can ultimately turn them into an effortless classy outfit. Let’s go ahead and have a look at the classic basics below:
1. Button Up Shirts
A classic button down shirts is hands down the most basic classic staple in any wardrobe. I mean it’s extremely versatile and can be styled in endless ways. To create a classic look, pair it with straight leg jeans or wide leg trousers and finish the look with slippers/mules and gold jewelry in summer.
2. Your Favorite Black Dress
It is without a doubt that a black dress is one of the most known wardrobe staples. Whether it’s a formal occasion or casual hangout with your friends, the black dress will instantly make you stand out in the crowd. It’s one of the best investment pieces you can have in your wardrobe. Just make sure the dress is of quality fabric and tailored to fit your body.
3. The Perfect Blazer
A blazer is that extra something that always pulls the together for any look. Whether be it dinner, event, office, you can never go wrong with a timeless blazer. You can pair the blazer with a button down shirt and jeans or a blouse with straight pants for a quick look. It really pulls the look together.
4. The Perfect Midi Skirt
Of all the skirts I have worn, a pencil skirt is that one skirt that will remain a timeless piece. And for an evening look, I would opt in for a pleated midi skirt. If you don’t have any skirts, I suggest to start with a neutral color that you can wear over the years.
5. Camisoles For the Win
Other than button down shirts, you can also wear satin camisoles as they also help me achieve a classic look. I like carrying them in all sorts of colors and can easily be paired with jeans, trousers, skirts etc.
6. Your Very Own Pumps
It took me years to find pumps that were actually comfortable. Majority of the pumps I have worn throughout the years have brought nothing but discomfort and blisters so when I found my pumps, I knew I had to take care of them very well. I would always suggest to invest in pumps that aren’t only comfortable but are appropriate for majority of events/places. Here are my round up of pumps that that are actually worth the bucks.
7. Don’t Forget Sneakers
I wanted to do a separate section for sneakers because they are as important as pumps. Because of their effortlessness, they can be worn for a variety of occasions. And remember sneakers are that piece that will never go out of trend so make sure to have your set.
