How to be More Productive in Winter Mornings

Let’s just say winter will never be my favorite weather. It’s funny how I used to be the opposite years back saying how much I love winter but over the years, I have traveled so much to realize how good it feels to be in the warmer weather. Now that I am a mom, I have to wake up early with my son and get through work and chores, I have found some tricks to help me get through winter mornings. As much as I don’t like getting up early, it comes with a bunch of benefits. Here is what I found works for me:

Plan Ahead of Time

Working from home and being a toddler mom is a constant challenge but what has really helped me is plan my days ahead of time. I try my best to plan my full week and sometimes it doesn’t go fully planned but at least I am able to get a good chunk of work done. For other things like planning meals, or what I am going to wear is the type of thing I plan the night before. Believe me, it motivates me to get up and get dressed as styling can take time!

Water Before Coffee Always

I can’t believe I lived on caffeine in the morning for years not realizing how dehydrated I would be throughout the day.  Starting the gym last year has made me change my lifestyle a lot. Just having water in the morning can give you a fresh start to the day. You feel internally and externally hydrated and somehow more motivated to get things done. I am not saying to eliminate coffee but have water BEFORE coffee. It will give you that long-lasting energy.

Workout

I have never been a morning person and I always tell myself to go to the gym in the evening. Unfortunately, that never happens. This is something I am still struggling with and my goal for this year is to go to the gym in the morning. Obviously, I am not successful on days but I am still working on it. I have also noticed that exercising is a stress reliever, it will improve your energy and mood. If I can’t get to the gym in the morning, I focus on getting there at lunchtime instead.

Start by Tackling the Biggest Task First

If you have a big deadline coming up or you have a big task to finish, the first thing you need to do is stop stressing over it and start asap to get it out of the way. This technique works for me every time. Remember if you have a huge task that is weighing you down, you will have a hard time focusing on other tasks. Tackle the important task first before getting to the other ones.

So guys, here are some things that help me get through winter mornings. Do you have any suggestions for us, leave them in the comments below.
